Red Chilli powder can be replaced by this home made red chilli paste in most of the dry curries, gravies, non veg dishes and even in biriyani. It gives a nice color and flavour to the dishes. You can store red chilli paste in refrigerator and use it whenever you wants. Here i am preparing a small batch of chilli paste. You can adjust the quantity according to your needs.
Red Chilli Paste
Ingredients
Red Chilli Whole | - 25 nos |
Oil | - 2 tbs |
Water | - as needed |
Instructions
1. Boil enough water in a pot. Add red chillies into boiling water.
2. Cook it for 10 minutes. After that cool down a little bit. And then grind into a smooth paste with very little water.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Add ground chilli to it. Saute till oil separates from chiili paste.
4. Let chilli paste comes to room temperature. Transfer it into a container, refrigerate it. It will be good for 2-3 weeks.
Lax Notes
* You can add a tsp oil while grinding chillies. It will help to grind chillies smoothly.
* You can skip third step but you need to oil instead of water while grinding red chillies. Transfer into a container and store it. It will be good for 1-2 weeks.
* Color is depending on the type of red chilli you use. Use dark coloured red chillies if you want reddish chilli paste.
